Travelling Around

Travel around the local area will mostly be done by public transport as there are few private cars in the area. Locals travel by daladala which is a small people carrier that acts as a bus. You may wish to try out using a motorbike style taxi also. Lifts may be available from the institution you are working with but we strongly emphasise that you confirm who will be paying for the diesel before you start the journey. You may like to consider getting an international driving licence before you come, available from main UK post offices for £5 at last check. You may not have an opportunity to use a car but it could come in handy.
